Brad Paisley - Welcome To The Future
I just read an article that totally blew my mind. haha. It was about things that babies born in the year 2011 will never know. Here's a few things on the list:
Video tapes- where's the skip button?!
Movie rental tapes- actually getting in your car and driving to get a movie.
Travel Agents- (ehem--priceline.com)
Paper maps- TomTom always knows where to go ;)
Wired phones/long distance- why pay for a phone that plugs into a wall??
The evening news- it's always on
CD's- :( sad. but so true.
Film cameras.- My first camera was a "one-ten" film camera. ;)
Phone books- thank goodness!
Handwritten letters/cursive- I hope not! These are my favorite!
Hahaha, it's crazy! So wierd to think that things can change so much in just a few years. I love it! It's so exciting!

Happy in 2011
I find happiness in:
Simplicity (Less is always more!)
Relaxation
Worship
A good talk
Success
Witnessing any act of kindness in any form
sunshine
good music (Better than medicine)
the ocean (any where, any time)
being on a boat (an inherited love from Navy parents)
family visits
vacuuming (Haha, I don't know why)
restoration (something about making the old new..)
letters (Only due to the fact that it has been rare in my life that a month has gone by that I haven't received one from my lovely cousin, and aunt)
photographs
praising god (is there anything better?!)
cursive (unfortunately, becoming a way of the past)
beads
talking around a fireplace
doing dishes by hand ( Thanks Grandma.)
the color yellow (such a friendly color :)
handshakes
airports (The heaven of all places for such an addicted people watcher)
road-trips (sunny delight + Ritz crackers + good music= Go time!)
stamps
champagne (Newly found fondness ;)
Friday at 5:00 (FREEDOM!)
camping
making new friends
Finding the 'aloha spirit' on the mainland ( I miss it SO much)
getting my toes painted (makes me happy to look down at them.:)

Let it Be Christmas
Heard such a great sermon last week at church on the meaning of Advent. I really had no idea what it meant at all. - And I am now in love with the message that it carries. Advent (in a nut shell) means hope and expectation that something better is coming. So much relief coming from that word for me. It holds so much promise. The first advent was Christ's Birth, and the 2nd advent is the return of Christ. In between those two, is where we sit now. There is something so cleansing about waiting. I think that God really uses that time to purify our motives, and in a society that is now so programed with instantaneous satisfaction, I was slapped a little bit with reality during this sermon, as I was thinking about how much I was allowing myself to miss out by not giving myself the chance to wait on the Lord's timing and trying to seek it out on my own. It is in the waiting that our love grows, and where miracles get bigger.
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." JER. 29:11
